To be blunt, don’t spend $45 on this lipstick. The Dior Addict Lipstick in 716 Dior Cannage is a beautiful color with a great shine and is very comfortable to wear but it just doesn’t last. I’m talking about 2 hours before it needs to be touched up.
Dior is claiming 6 hours of wear and shine, which I have not experienced since I started testing this back in October. However, since the brand only used a sample size of 25 people to determine this, I shouldn’t be so surprised that the claim seems off the mark. I drink water and tea all day, so I do put lipsticks through a lot, but I can get 4 hours of decent wear out of my favorite formulas before feeling the need for a touch-up. On the upside, I do like the amount of pigment, and the fact that it feels like a balm is great for my dry lips.
Update December 18, 2024: As I mentioned in my Best and Worst Products of 2023 Post, this isn’t a product I’d recommend because I think there are better lipsticks on the market for less money. However, since I bought it, I’ve been using it and it does work into my looks very easily. It is also easy to reapply it without a mirror, and I’ve never caught myself in a mirror looking crazy after having done so 😂. It is good that it is easy to reapply because it disappears quickly. I drink a lot throughout the day, which will make things wear down faster, but I get better wear out of other formulas.
716 Dior Cannage Comparison Swatch to Chanel Rouge Allure 209 Alter Ego
Short and sweet today. There just isn’t much else to say about this lipstick. I have some favorites that are all under $30 (Huda Beauty, Propa Beauty, Maybelline, Revlon), so for this to be so expensive and not last on me is disappointing. However, if you are in need of a pigmented, comfortable, shiny lipstick and you don’t care how much you have to reapply, this could still be worth looking into.

Came across your photos and found your much appreciated review! Sadly I love this shade and a good packaging, do you know other product that’s similar in color but with better performances?

The Dior formula is a lighter coverage product so natural lip color will make it look a little different on everyone. On me, it is close but more brown than the Chanel Alter Ego lipstick. It is also close but a little more pink than the Dior Addict Lip Glow Balm in Mahogany. Chanel Alter Ego, is a satin lipstick so it does last longer, but the effect is very different. The Dior Addict Lip Glow is more sheer than the Dior Addict Lipstick since it is a balm, but it is thicker so it does hang around slightly longer. If you really like this color and the packaging, it may be worth it for you to give it a try. It may cost you more aggravation trying to find the color elsewhere. I still use this product and enjoy the color and shine and I just accept that I have to reapply it more often. Let me know if I can answer any other questions for you. Thanks for commenting!
