Lancome is a brand that always manages to draw me in. The packaging on some of the products can feel cheap for the price point, but the quality of the products themselves are always top-notch.
Despite being excellent quality, I don’t hear much about these eyeshadows. They are easy to use, they blend well, and no excess powder kicks up when using them. I have never noticed any issues with fallout. They are easy to sheer out if you like a light wash of color or build up if you need or want color intensity. The most comparable formula I can think of is the bareMinerals Gen Nude Eyeshadow formula. They are not hard to pick up on a brush, but they are not dry shadows.
As lamé suggests in the name, this gold has a metallic finish. It doesn’t, however, accentuate any texture on the eyelid. In my experience, it is very smoothing on the eyelids. I did have a chance to swatch the entire range of the new shades they released back in the Summer of 2018. Gold Lamé is more metallic and pigmented than some of the other shades they offer.
Canyon is a clay color, but when applied, you can see that it has a purple lean to it. It is a good neutral for me, not so cool-toned that it looks like a bruise, but adds more interest than my standard brown crease colors.
I know a lot of people shy away from eyeshadow singles due to the high price point compared to the value you get from an entire palette. However, I find that for me, I prefer getting one shade that I like over a palette that has colors I won’t use. If you are like me and often find yourself not using several shades in palettes, you might consider buying a single shade that you like in the future.
