Early last year Bobbi Brown added the Skin Corrector Stick to their lineup. So far, it has not replaced the cult classic Undereye Corrector that comes in pot form. Unfortunately, the original formula did lose some shades (16 cut down to 12) but it is still being sold. I’ve always had trouble with the original formula creasing badly, so I was very curious to see how the Skin Corrector Stick would perform in comparison.

According to the product information, the shade dark peach corrects brown/grey/greenish discoloration. My undereye discoloration is a greenish-brown, so I stuck to the dark peach shade that I have in the pot form when I purchased the Skin Corrector Stick. The shades are close, but the pot form is a touch lighter and has more yellow. This makes more of a difference for me on the face than under the eyes, but I rarely use it on the face so it doesn’t bother me. Under the eyes, I do enjoy the extra brightening that I get from the Corrector in the Pot. For reference, my best foundation matches are NARS Natural Radiant Longwear Tahoe, Estee Lauder Double Wear 4W4 Hazel, and MAC Studio Fix Fluid C8.

I have dry skin and the Bobbi Brown Skin Corrector Stick wears comfortably without drying me out. The brand claims that it “delivers immediate moisture for smoother, plumper, healthy-looking skin” and I don’t really notice that. I don’t think it’s drying at all, but I don’t specifically notice looking any smoother or plumped. I do notice that it looks better when I pair it with satin or dewy finish concealers (e.g. Dior Forever Correct, Armani Luminous Silk) rather than matte finishes (e.g. Estee Lauder Double Wear, MAC Studio Fix 24HR). At times with matte finishes it can look slightly patchy if I’m not careful. However, since I prefer satin and dewy finish concealers these days, that isn’t a deal breaker for me. It is something to keep in mind if you like matte concealers. Just remember that I have dry skin so my starting point may be different than yours.

I draw this directly on my face from the stick and the formula melts easily. There is no dragging or tugging at the delicate eye area or on the larger parts of my face. It doesn’t cause any extra creasing with any of the concealers I’ve used it with and it doesn’t change wear time for better or worse. The brand doesn’t make a specific coverage claim other than to say it is buildable. To me, it is medium coverage. I don’t think that in most cases correctors need to be full coverage because it’s a step for neutralizing the darkness rather than completely covering it. Your concealer worn on top of it is where you will get the actual coverage. So while I think its coverage is sufficient for my needs, there are some people with intense darkness that need full coverage for both their corrector and concealer. For them, this will likely fall short. I really like this corrector and I’m glad I gave it a chance. Overall, it works worlds better for me than the potted version although, the pot does have better coverage.

Bobbi Brown Dark Peach Undereye Corrector (Pot), $33.00

As I stated in my original review of the Undereye Corrector formula, this product creases noticeably on me no matter what I do. The best result I get is when I apply it with a small dense brush. For correcting blemishes on the face, I prefer the extra coverage of this potted version to the Corrector Stick. Wearing glasses casts some shadows, so I feel like I can blame some darkness peeking through on the glasses. On the face, however, when I do take the time to cover a blemish with both corrector and concealer, I want the most coverage I can get. In terms of the creasing though, I would still choose the MAC Conceal and Correct formula over this every time.

Despite the fact that both of these lines have fewer shade options than the brand used to carry, Bobbi Brown does still have the largest shade range of color correctors that I’ve seen. I would personally recommend the Skin Corrector Stick over the old formula. However, if you don’t tend to have creasing issues, the Undereye Corrector Pot does give better coverage for more stubborn darkness.

  1. Oh wow, the stick range looks like it has options that would work for me! And the way you described it working for you sounds like something I might want to try in the future after I finish up a few that I have. Which…will take forever, admittedly! lol. But perhaps during a sale.

      1. Technically the elf one is the only true corrector I’m using (as opposed to a few strongly orange-brown concealers). I like that it’s a more pigmented orange than ones I’ve used in the past, but it’s not long lasting. So, my favorite is still the BeccaxSmashbox under eye brightener that I use as a corrector under concealer.

        1. I am also liking the Becca/smashbox one but it’s still pretty new to me. I’ve liked it a lot more since I switched to a lighter shade so I’m hoping it continues to work well for me.

          1. I hope you continue enjoying it as well! And random side note, I just wanted to let you know MAC has the code loversextra20 for an additional discount off the sale section! I just noticed it a little while ago when I clicked the wrong bookmark and saw the notice on the website. lol.

    1. Thank you! It can be hard to find that info for sure. A lot of the time, I post about something because I couldn’t find a review of that product myself. I’m glad it was helpful.
