Makeup Geek Foiled Eyeshadows, $8.49
UPDATE (March 4, 2022): Unfortunately, the Makeup Geek brand is going out of business and will close in April 2022. The website is currently 40% off.
I have continued to play around with the Makeup Geek foiled shadows to see if I could fix the creasing issue I was having. I have the most success with the Covergirl Trublend Lid Lock up eyeshadow primer, but I do still get creasing with these shadows. I tried the Covergirl over my go to Too Faced Shadow Insurance because it has a tacky finish. So I was hoping the extra tackiness would grab on to the pigment and keep them from creasing through the day. On the upside, the Covergirl Trublend Lid Lock up did prevent the fallout issue I was having.
The colors are beautiful and they give a really nice metallic shine that doesn’t initially accentuate texture. But after about 4 or 5 hours, I start to see the creasing, and then you can really see every line on my eyes. I’m disappointed that these don’t work well for me, but they are really beautiful shadows that hopefully don’t crease on everyone. MAC Love Me Liquid Lip Color – E for Effortless, $25.00**
As I mentioned in my original swatch post, this formula feels just as comfortable and moisturizing as the love me bullet lipstick version. This particular shade (e for effortless) leaves a stain behind which makes it wear a little longer than the other shades I’ve tried (bated breath and coffee & cigs). The brand claims a 12 hour wear and while I’m not one to keep lipstick on for that long, I do think they have good staying power. They look fresh much longer than a traditional bullet lipstick that I’d typically touch up after about 4 hours. The one problem I’m having with the formula is that it does get on my teeth and that isn’t a problem I typically have. I have tried pairing it with MAC’s lip primer and they still manage to get on my teeth. **Disclaimer: I did not buy the three shades that I tried, they were sent to me for free by MAC Cosmetics.
Coloured Raine Cinna-Bae Bronzer, $16.00
There isn’t much to say here other than I’m still loving this bronzer. It picks up easily on both synthetic and natural hair brushes and it blends easily. It is very pigmented, but the ease of blending means I don’t have to be careful with it. I’m loving Coloured Raine’s products and can’t wait to see what they come out with next!
