Patrick Ta recently added four new shades to the **Major Headlines Double-Take Creme and Powder Blush Duos. I am very tempted by the cool mauve rose shade called She Goes To The Gym, but I just couldn’t bring myself to spend another $38 on blush when I currently own Oh She’s Different and She’s Baked from this line. **Oh She’s Different is no longer carried at Sephora, but it’s available as an exclusive shade on the Patrick Ta website. She’s Baked was discontinued at some point, but I’ll share my swatches of that shade for comparison in case you have it. Update June 7, 2025: **The shade She’s Baked is back on the Patrick Ta website.

I have seen many complaints from people saying their Patrick Ta products went bad quickly. I purchased She’s Baked in February 2024 and Oh She’s Different in April 2024, and I have not had any issues with either shade. The packaging lists a 12-month shelf life, which I’m just getting to for She’s Baked, so if anything changes, I’ll post an update.

Let’s get into the swatches and what the shades look like on me.

Comparison Swatches – Oh She’s Different vs She’s Baked

Swatched left to right is creme layered over the powder, creme alone, and then the powder alone.

L to R: Creme layered over powder, creme alone, and powder alone

I’m not typically a fan of creme blushes, but my dry skin felt extra dry and tight last winter, so I decided to try these. I figured if the creme formula didn’t work out for me, I would at least still have the powder blush. Luckily, both formulas are nice, so the $38 price is a good value, in my opinion. Patrick Ta recommends layering the creme blush over the powder for his signature look, but I always use the shades separately. One of my issues with creme and liquid products is that they can sometimes remove the coverage of the foundation or concealer underneath as you apply them. I have not had that issue with the Patrick Ta formula. The creme is pigmented and has a nice sheen, which helps bring some life back to my face without looking too wet. It doesn’t feel tacky to me and I never feel like I need to apply powder over it. If I wear it with a matte foundation, it does look more matte, as you will see in the photo below of me wearing She’s Baked.

The powder formula has a satin finish and is even more pigmented than the creme, making it easy to get the amount of color I want. It’s also decently blendable, although other formulas blend more easily. As I’ve previously mentioned, I prefer a light and very blended-out blush application, which is not as easy to accomplish with this. I still like using the Patrick Ta powder formula, but when thinking about the Revlon and Covergirl formulas that have been at the top of my mind lately, I think those blend easier. I’d also recommend the Armani Luminous Silk blush over this powder formula if you prefer high-end makeup. It is powdery, which isn’t my favorite type of formula, but I haven’t had issues with it getting very messy. Since it is powdery and pigmented, just be mindful of that and use a light hand if you try these.

Major Headlines Double-Take Crème & Powder Blush Duo – She’s Baked (Rich Terracotta)

I do like the Patrick Ta Major Headlines Double-Take Creme and Powder Blush Duos (that name 😅) and will enjoy them while I have them. However, I’m glad I took the time to revisit the shades I already have instead of buying a new one. It helped me realize I don’t like this blush enough to buy it again. Although I did enjoy finding a creme formula that I liked using, I’m still a powder blush lover. I just find powder easier and more enjoyable to use.

Are there any new releases tempting you right now?

  1. Putting aside the fact that I’m in the same boat of knowing I shouldn’t even look at the new shades because I don’t use my current duos enough, I feel like Patrick Ta keeps releasing those beautiful dark shades in slightly different undertones…being slightly more mauve, slightly more pink, slightly more of a brick red, slightly more plum, etc. I still keep hoping to have the perfect color in his line, but if the undertone still isn’t perfect, I have to deal with having another one that’s similar to the other two. That’s the main thing that stops me. She Goes to the Gym was tempting for me too, so I appreciate this reminder. lol.
