bareMinerals Bounce and Blur Blush Swatches

The blushes in this collection are being marketed as having a “Fingertip-friendly bouncy powder” formula.  They retail for $29.00** wherever bareMinerals is sold.  I don’t have a lot of experience with this type of formula, but I’d say they are like the Colourpop super shock formula**.

Both shades work better with fingers but also do work with a brush. The formula is buildable as the brand has marketed.  It took 3 layers for me to be happy with the amount of color of coral cloud and 2 layers for mauve sunrise. If you have lighter skin, I’d imagine they would build faster. There is sparkle running throughout these that the camera is not picking up on. You can’t see it from a distance once it is on the face but you can see it up close and it spreads around the face a little.

I appreciate the fact that although it is designed and intended for use with the fingers that it does still work with a brush. And while I do like this formula better than the blushes I have used from Colourpop, I do still prefer a normal powder blush over this texture.  I was interested in the new MAC Glow Play Blushes but I passed because I figured they’d be similar to these. UPDATE February 4, 2022: I did end up trying the MAC Glow Play formula, you can read my review by clicking here.

Have you tried both this formula and the MAC Glow Play Blushes?  If so let me know which you prefer and why in the comments section below.
