Charlotte Tilbury Unreal Healthy Glow Blush Stick (Cherry Glow Swatch)

The Charlotte Tilbury Unreal Healthy Glow Blush Stick ($42, 9g) in Cherry Glow is easy to blend and luminous, as the brand promises. However, I couldn’t test the long-lasting claim because I just don’t like how it looks on me. This is an issue I mentioned in my Morphe Cloudlight Soft Glow Veil Powder Review, but I’m just not a fan of adding too much shine to my look. I use a heavy oil-based moisturizer, and I think that may make things appear extra glowy on my skin. But regardless of the reason, I could only wear this for about an hour before I went back and added a powder blush on top to tone down the shine. It is easy to use and I had no problems with blending or it moving my foundation. I picked the blush up with a brush directly from the stick and applied it from there. The glow was expected because of the marketing and the way it appeared when I swatched it, but for some reason, I still expected something closer to the finish of the Juvia’s Place Blushed Cream Blush, which sets to a more satin texture. Don’t get me wrong, the blush looks beautiful and skin-like. It is just a personal preference issue for me. Let’s get into the swatch, what it looks like on me, and a comparison, so you can decide for yourself what you think of the Charlotte Tilbury Unreal Blush Stick.

My only other “complaint” about the Charlotte Tilbury Blush Stick is that Cherry Glow leans more pink on me than red. I suspect that is because of my olive undertone, but I was hoping for a red blush shade, so that is a little disappointing.

Comparison Swatch – Charlotte Tilbury Unreal Blush Stick Cherry Glow (top) and Juvia’s Place Blushed Cream Blush Cheeky Cherry (bottom)

I do want to point out that although I did compare this to the Juvia’s Place Cream blush, it was just for the shade comparison with another red blush. The Charlotte Tilbury Blush Stick is much easier to blend than the Juvia’s Place cream blush. Still, I do like how Juvia’s Place doesn’t have the amount of visible mica particles that Charlotte Tilbury does, so it looks more satin. The mica in the Charlotte Tilbury formula isn’t anything that stands out as glitter or emphasizes texture badly. I can just tell that it is shinier because of it.

These swatches are heavy, so I blended them a little so you can see that it is possible to wear the Charlotte Tilbury Unreal Blush Stick more sheerly. You also saw the more sheer application in the picture above, with me wearing Cherry Glow.

If I set my personal preference aside, I do like the Charlotte Tilbury Unreal Blush Stick in Cherry Glow. However, the added mica in the formula just catches a little too much light/shine for my current taste. I think that anyone who likes glass skin or a dewy look will likely enjoy this product. As I mentioned, I set this formula with a powder blush (Bobbi Brown’s Talc-Free Blush formula), and I’ve had no issues with longevity. However, I have read that fading can be an issue, so here is a review from my friend Lili if you want to hear her take.

  1. It’s interesting that this wasn’t the best fit for us for slightly different reasons. You didn’t like the shine and the color wasn’t true enough red on your skin tone. For me, I liked the glow and the color, but I didn’t like the feel of it on my skin…which forces me to powder it as well. The powder removing the shine ended up being what I didn’t like about it. lol.
