Armani Luminous Silk Creamy Bronzer 110, Estee Lauder Futurist Skincealer 4W, Lancome Care and Glow Serum Concealer 405W, and Tom Ford Glow Highlighter 02 Oasis Review Updates
L to R: Armani Luminous Silk Creamy Bronzer 110, Estee Lauder Futurist Skincealer 4W, Lancome Care and Glow Serum Concealer 405W, and Tom Ford Glow Highlighter 02 Oasis

If you are new here, I like to do this occasionally. My reviews of these products remain accurate based on my experience; I have no complete turnaround thoughts on these items. However, I did feel like there were a few details that I wanted to share. I also update the original reviews, but since most people don’t typically go back to a review, I like to post a separate update to let you guys know if I noticed something different in the case of the Armani Luminous Silk Creamy Bronzer or when I’ve figured out how to work with a product differently (Estee Lauder Futurist Skincealer, Lancome Care and Glow Serum Concealer, Tom Ford Glow Highlighter). You can click on the previous links for each item to see my original reviews.

Armani Luminous Silk Creamy Bronzing Powder 110 Swatch Medium Dark Skin
Armani Luminous Silk Creamy Bronzing Powder 110

As I mentioned in my review, this bronzer has mica particles running through the formula. I still don’t see them on my face when it is applied in most lighting. However, now that I’ve been able to wear it on sunny days outside, I can see the mica particles in sunlight, but I have to look for them very closely. If you don’t like a glowy bronzer, you aren’t likely interested in this one anyway. But if you like a glowy bronzer but don’t want to look sparkly, I personally enjoy the Armani Luminous Silk Creamy Bronzer and haven’t had an issue with it. I will point out, though, that I don’t have to build this up very much for my skin tone (NARS Natural Radiant Tahoe). It is possible that if you like a stronger bronzer look than me or are darker than me (so you may have to apply more product) you would see more sparkle. For reference, the L’oreal Lumi Bronzer (03 deep) is a shimmery bronzer that I can clearly see the sparkles on my skin.

UPDATE November 26, 2024: I will warn you that the shimmer in this formula can also be more noticeable (even in the house) if you apply it with a brush that is too dense. Just something to keep in mind.

**Estee Lauder Futurist Soft Touch Brightening Skincealer – 4W, $38 (original review, click here)

Estee lauder Futurist Soft Touch Brightening Skincealer 4W Swatch

Despite being impressed with how smooth the Estee Lauder Futurist Skincealer is when applied over texture, I had trouble with creasing. I have dry skin and find that the NARS Light Reflecting Pressed Powder typically reduces my creasing issues without drying out my skin. However, with this concealer, I didn’t have success with it. I had the same creasing issues even after trying it with several powders, including the MAC Mineralize Skinifinish Natural, Bobbi Brown Vitamin Enriched, NYX HD Finishing Powder, and Westman Atelier Vital Pressed Skincare Powder. I finally had success with the bareMinerals Mineral Veil in Sheer Tan. This combination does create a less radiant finish than when the Estee Lauder Skincealer is worn alone, but it doesn’t look dry and wears well throughout the day. I tend to wear my makeup for 8 to 10 hours, and even in humid weather, I’ve still had good wear time by using the bareMinerals Mineral Veil with this concealer. I occasionally have to pat out some creasing, but that is not unique to this concealer.

**Lancome Teint Idole Ultra Wear Care and Glow Serum Concealer – 405W, $31 (original review, click here)

Lancome Care and Glow Serum Concealer 405W Swatch

I experienced even worse creasing with the Lancome Care and Glow Serum Concealer, and as with the Estee Lauder concealer, the bareMinerals Mineral Veil in Sheer Tan has saved its performance. The Lancome concealer does have more glow than the Estee Lauder, so it does look more radiant overall, even when paired with the bareMinerals powder. For comparison, it does not wear as well on me as the Armani Luminous Silks Concealer, a more comparable formula than the Estee Lauder Skincealer. I would like it if it had a touch more coverage (it can be a struggle to get medium coverage), and I do experience a little fading by the end of the day. But it is more hydrating than any other concealer I have experience with if that is something you are looking for.

Tom Ford Soleil De Feu Glow Highlighter – 02 Oasis, $95 (original review, click here)

Tom Ford Soleil De Feu Glow Highlighter 02 Oasis Swatch Medium Dark Skin

Firstly, I don’t recommend paying full price for this highlighter formula. If you have a Cosmetics Company Store (Estee Lauder Companies outlet) near you, check there to get it for 50% off. The normal makeup discount at the outlet is 40% off, but these were marked down 50% off when I bought mine. The shade 02 Oasis in the Tom Ford Glow Highlighter formula is chunkier and has larger mica particles that do show on my skin, and it does not look flattering to me. I have discovered that a fluffier brush does help and looks better, but I still prefer other formulas.

Tom Ford Soleil De Feu Glow Highlighter 02 Oasis Swatch Medium Dark Skin

I was curious to know if this was a formula or shade issue, so I also tried another shade (Soleil Neige 02 Gran Paradis). While the 02 Oasis is a much better shade for my skin tone, the formula of the 02 Gran Paradis is much smoother. So, I think the formula of Soleil De Feu 02 Oasis may just be an outlier. I did my best to capture how the mica particles separate from the base color of 02 Oasis (left swatch in the image below), but I’m not sure I succeeded 😂. I honestly still wouldn’t recommend this formula, even though I think Soleil Neige 02 Gran Paradis is a more flattering formula to wear than Soleil De Feu 02 Oasis. I just don’t feel like it is worth the price for me, even considering that I got the 50% off by buying them at the Cosmetics Company Store. Obviously, “worth the price” is very subjective, but that is just my thought.

    1. Yea, I was glad that I recently decided to revisit Bareminerals. Maybe your Huda powder would help it out, if you haven’t already tried that combo.
