NARS promises that its iconic lipstick will be lightweight, long lasting, and resistant to bleeding/feathering. I do think that Banned Red (pictured above) does have a decent wear time for a satin lipstick. I can get a good 4 hours of wear through drinking and a light snack before it needs to be touched up. Unfortunately for me, I do not agree that it is resistant to feathering. I have some very fine lines along my top lip that this formula creeps into. On the upside, I don’t think anyone else would notice the feathering, but it does bother me. They also say that it will leave your lips feeling hydrated, which I also don’t experience. I do think that this formula is comfortable to wear, but I don’t feel that it offers my lips any nourishment.
NARS Satin Lipstick – Banned Red, $26.00
Banned Red is described as a mulled wine.

I also have a sample size of the shade Tolede and that also bleeds into the very fine lines at the edge of my upper lip. Both Banned Red and Tolede feel creamy during application and then I can feel the formula set/dry down and leave a slightly tacky feeling on the lips. I do think that this dry down is what helps the formula have some longevity.

I can also agree with the brand that the formula is lightweight. If it wasn’t for the slight tackiness, it would be easy to forget I was wearing it. I don’t think the tacky feeling is annoying or anything, but it is noticeable to me during wear so I wanted to mention it.
NARS Satin Lipstick – Tolede, $26.00
Tolede is described as a pink rose.

The NARS Iconic lipstick retails for $26.00 and in addition to this satin finish, they also have matte and sheer shades.
