Lancome claims the **Teint Idole Ultra Wear All Over Concealer ($31) is a crease-resistant, natural matte finish, full coverage concealer with up to 24 hours of hydration. The website also lists some additional benefits, such as sweat resistance, ultra-blendable, comfortable wear, suitability for sensitive skin, and the fact that it doesn’t cling to dry spots. As with many brand claims, they are promising a lot, and I’m shocked to tell you that several of these claims are true for me. I disagree that it provides full coverage, and for my personal facial features, it is only crease-resistant when used for spot concealing. As I mentioned in my concealer ranking, I have chubby cheeks, and when I smile, a lot of crinkling happens around my eyes. That causes me to work a little harder to keep concealers from creasing in the eye area. So, anyway, I need to pair this formula with powder to prevent creasing under my eyes, which is typical for me. However, it wears well without powder when applied to the face to cover dark spots. When I wore it without powder on the under-eye area, it was easy to re-blend with a brush or my fingers, and it looked good. This, however, causes a loss in coverage throughout the day.
Getting back to the coverage. If you have intense darkness, medium is the best you will get from this concealer. It does have a slight blurring effect due to the matte finish, which can make it appear to have higher coverage. However, if you tend to use color correctors, I don’t think you’ll experience this as full coverage, either. I do think it will be buildable to full coverage for some people, but since they are claiming full coverage, I have to disagree. This formula builds on itself well for me, but I’d still call it a medium coverage concealer.

**The Lancome Teint Idole Ultra Wear All Over Concealer has a beautiful natural matte finish. I’ve worn this concealer through all seasons, and for context, I live in the Boston area. It is more comfortable to wear on my dry skin in the warmer seasons, but I never have issues with it drying me out in the winter. It’s not hydrating for me, but unlike with some other matte concealers (Makeup By Mario, Huda Beauty), my skin doesn’t get drier in response to regular use. Even when I’ve used this on my face in dry weather, it does not accentuate texture. I do suffer from eczema, so there are times when I have dry patches, and I’ve had no issues with it clinging. And speaking of my eczema, this claims to be ok for sensitive skin, and I’ve had no irritation or breakouts while using this. I haven’t had any problems with it breaking down in the summer because of sweat, so I agree with the sweat resistant claim.
I prefer to use a brush with this formula. It blends quickly and leaves a smoother finish, but it also works fine when I use my fingers. Its matte finish smooths texture, although not as well as the Estee Lauder Futurist Skincealer. The finish also helps diminish the appearance of my under-eye hollows.
My biggest complaint with the Lancome Teint Idole Concealer is a packaging quirk. The stopper mechanism is very small in comparison to the size of the doe foot. This can be a good thing because it means the doe foot isn’t overloaded with product. But with this concealer, it makes the doe foot hard to remove, and sometimes, that causes the concealer to fling off the doe foot and get on surfaces and clothes. It doesn’t happen every time, but it’s enough to annoy me.

TL;DR
| Lancome Teint Idole All Over Concealer Claims | Do I agree? |
|---|---|
| Crease-resistant | Yes. It does need powder under my eyes for my particular concerns, but as a face concealer, I had no creasing issues with smile lines or fine lines on the face. |
| Natural matte finish | Yes. |
| Full-coverage | No. Medium, possibly buildable to full for some. |
| Up to 24HR hydration | Hard to say. I don’t feel like I get hydration from this formula on my dry skin type, but it doesn’t dry me out like other matte concealers tend to. |
| Sweat-resistant | Yes. Sweating hasn’t broken it down or decreased coverage. |
| Ultra-blendable | Yes. I find it to be easy to blend with any style of brush and with my fingers. |
| Comfortable wear | Yes. As a caveat, it does feel a little tight in the winter months, but again, I have dry skin. |
| Suitable for sensitive skin | Yes. My skin is sensitive and can be very reactive, and I’ve had no issues. Keep in mind, though, that everyone’s sensitivities are different. |
| Doesn’t cling to dry spots | Yes. |
Final Thoughts
One great feature not mentioned on the website is the excellent value you’re getting. This concealer has 11 mL of product and, at $31, is a much better value than many concealers with a similar price tag ranging from 5-9 mL. Lancome used to have a legacy of having a great shade range, but as far as I can remember, that was only true for the foundation. While the **Teint Idole Ultra Wear All Over Concealer has 24 shades, I think they could have done better. I wish they would define the differences in their undertones. Categorized under cool is suede cool, bisque cool, buff cool, and ivoire cool. The neutral category has bisque neutral, buff neutral, and ivoire neutral. The warm category includes suede warm, bisque warm, and ivoire warm. I’m glad they at least break them up on the website into cool, neutral, and warm, but I still find it confusing. I couldn’t find any information on the website to define the differences between suede, bisque, buff, and ivoire. From my experience, comparing 435 Bisque Warm to 460 Suede Warm, 435 bisque is more yellow, and 460 suede is more red. But since they both fall in the warm undertone category, that also confuses me. If you have a Lancome counter, Sephora, or Ulta, it would be worth checking out the shades in person. When shopping, I start by swatching my best shade match (NARS Tahoe) on my hand and then comparing everything to that swatch. If the store you’re going to doesn’t carry your best shade match, consider swatching it on yourself before you go. Just remember to be careful 😆.
