Bobbi Brown Bronzed Nudes Eye Shadow Palette Swatches and Review
Bobbi Brown Bronzed Nudes Eye Shadow Palette

Bronzed Nudes Palette, $49 (All Nudes Eyeshadow Collection)

The All Nudes Eye Shadow Palette Collection from Bobbi Brown consists of three 5-pan color options. The options are Rosey Nudes, Smokey Nudes, and Bronzed Nudes which is the one that I have.

Shades L to R: Latte, Sunrise, Iced Caramel, Pecan, Black Coffee

These 5-pan palettes come in a sturdy, weighted compact with a great mirror.  The palette has 3 matte shades (Latte, Pecan, Black Coffee) and 2 metallic shades (Sunrise and Iced Caramel). The metallics are easy to blend as one-and-done eyeshadows or in combination with each other.  I’ve also had no issues combining them with other brands, so that is good if you are someone who likes to mix and match with what you already have. The texture of these Bobbi Brown metallic eye shadows is slightly creamy and a little dense.  They are between a MAC frost finish and a Pat McGrath Metallic (not the special shades).  It has the firmer press of the MAC frost finish (I.e. amber lights, cranberry). Still, it has a similar creaminess and density that you would find in the Pat McGrath metallic formula (I.e. enraptured and metallics from the Bronze Borealis quad). Please keep in mind that this is just a point of reference, the Bobbi Brown metallic formula does not have the same level of shine or dimension as a Pat McGrath shadow (in my opinion). I would also say that the Bobbi Brown formula has more shine than the MAC frost finish and takes less building to get the opacity I want.

While I consider the mattes to be easy to blend, I do think some other formulas are even easier for me to work with.  Although not all priced the same, NARS, Charlotte Tilbury, and MAC mattes are all easier for me to blend.  This is not a bad formula nor hard to blend, again I just want to give you a point of reference.  Pecan is slightly creamier in texture than latte and black coffee but I still consider this matte formula to be on the drier side.

Shades L to R: Latte, Sunrise, Iced Caramel, Pecan, Black Coffee

Latte (matte) This is my least favorite shade in the palette. Latte is powdery which is my least favorite formula for matte eyeshadow. It is also too light and pink on my Estee Lauder 4W4 skin tone. I can get some use out of it by mixing with with Pecan to use as a transition/ blending shade.

Sunrise (metallic) This is a solid metallic formula that applies well with either fingers or a brush. It is reflective enough without negatively emphasizing texture or fine lines on the eyelids.  There is some fallout but it is nothing that can’t be ignored or covered up if you do foundation after your eyes.

Iced Caramel (metallic) Another solid formula but I do think that it applies better with a finger over a brush. Using a brush does work fine, but the color payoff isn’t as good as finger application.  This could be because Iced Caramel is close to my skin tone. When used on its own, my eye look lacks contrast, which may be keeping it from showing up as well as Sunrise does. Regardless of the reason, it does seem to me that Iced Caramel doesn’t have as much shine as Sunrise.

Pecan (matte)This has a firmer press than Latte but it does still have some powder kick up in the pan.  I have to be very careful with the pigment of this shade. If I want to use it as a transition/blending shade, I only need one light layer.  It builds up very quickly on my skin tone.  Fortunately, it is easy to blend so sheering it out to use as a transition is doable.

Black Coffee (matte) This texture is the same as Pecan.  It is also very pigmented but surprisingly I still find it easy to control. I would still recommend being careful and going in lightly.

I enjoy using the Bobbi Brown Bronzed Nudes Eyeshadow Palette and appreciate that the formulas don’t accentuate any texture on my eyelids. I do struggle with eczema and I haven’t had any issues with this formula looking dry or textured. If you like to keep your eyeshadow looks simple (I do too!), I think this could be a good option. Your skin tone will make a difference in how versatile this grouping of shades can be. If you are darker than me, you won’t have to be as careful and can likely use Pecan as a transition shade without an issue. If you are lighter than me or have a cooler undertone, you may be able to get more use out of the shade Latte. Just some things to keep in mind if you are considering this palette.

The Bobbi Brown website does 25% off sales occasionally, so keep an eye out for them if you want to check any of the palettes in the All Nudes Eyeshadow Palette Collection out. $49 is a lot for 5 eyeshadows, but if you are already a fan of the brand then you aren’t surprised by the pricing. If you’d rather shop at department stores, I’d keep an eye on the sales at Belk (15-20% off) and Macy’s (15% off) because they happen more often than other retailers. Also, keep in mind that Nordstrom does price match the Macy’s beauty sales. I only paid $18.00 for the Bobbi Brown Bronzed Nudes at The Cosmetics Company Store during a particularly good sale, so that is another option. If you aren’t familiar, the Cosmetics Company Store is an outlet owned by Estee Lauder Companies where you can purchase overstock and discontinued products from Estee Lauder owned brands.

  1. With the exception of Latte, the other four shades look really pretty! I’m not super familiar with Bobbi Brown eyeshadows beyond the two palettes I bought last year, but Jadestone was so nice that I am a little more interested in trying more from them.
