Brand new to the Sephora Collection line up, this face palette in their Microsmooth formula also comes in a lighter version called Enchant. Their Microsmooth face powder has been raved about for years so I had high expectations for this release. I liked the color selection of the darker palette (Captivate) and I actually thought that I’d be able to use every shade. I don’t have that thought often when it comes to face palettes.Continue reading “Sephora Microsmooth Multi-Tasking Baked Face Palette (Captivate)”
Both of the products I’m raving about today are limited edition products. I know that if you like what I have to say about these products that you won’t be able to buy them, but fear not, I am going to give you some alternatives.
These MAC products have become some of my favorites to use regularly. I consistently set aside products to use in a makeup bag so that getting ready is easy. So as I was getting ready the other day, I noticed that I didn’t want to use what I had set aside and went to grab this MAC bronzer. Then, on Thursday, as I was about to use the Laura Mercier Roseglow Highlighter (swatched and reviewed here), I decided to use the MAC Extra Dimension Highlight from the Selena collection instead. I wanted to see which of these two highlighters accentuated texture less since the MAC had been a go to before I bought the Laura Mercier. After that, it dawned on me that I have been grabbing these two products over other items a lot. I never really expected either of them to be such staples.Continue reading “Sleeper Hits: MAC Next to Nothing Bronzer and MAC x Selena La Layenda Highlight”
Laura Mercier recently released a small collection with 1 Highlighting Powder and 6 new Caviar Sticks. So far, I have only seen the highlighting powder available directly from the Laura Mercier website. The caviar sticks are also available directly from Laura Mercier’s website, but they are also available on the Sephora website.
Forbidden Rose Caviar Stick Eye Color, $29.00
The Laura Mercier Caviar Sticks seem to be a cult classic, but this was my first time trying the formula. This new finish is supposed to have a dewy lustrous finish with intense pigment. I can’t say for certain what dewy lustrous means, but I would describe Forbidden Rose as a satin finish. I do think it is nicely pigmented, but I did expect more glow based on the name and lustrous description. It builds on itself easily for more intensity and there is enough time to blend the edges before it dries down.Continue reading “Laura Mercier Forbidden Rose Caviar Stick and RoseGlow Highlighter (Swatches)”
Coloured Raine has relaunched their highlight and blush duos from the Power Collection in different packaging. I purchased two duos with the original release, so I thought I’d share some swatches.
The Coloured Raine website doesn’t actually list which of the new shade names match up to the Power collection, but I think I have it figured out.
- Peach Loyalty was previously Call the Shots (swatched below)
- Rose Love was previously Damage Control (swatches below)
- Mauvelous was previously My Day One
- Love Affair was previously Prove My Loyalty
If you think I’ve made a mistake, please let me know in the comments section so I can make the correction.
Now, for my swatches. Enjoy!
